ADWIFT – S is a anti-infective combination of Cefoperazone + Sulbactam in which cefoperazone is a commonly used broad-spectrum semi-synthetic third-generation cephalosporin with a potent bactericidal activity against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and Sulbactam is B – lactamase inhibitor.

- The peak plasma concentration following 1gm I.V. administration : 65 mcg/ mg.
- Serum protein binding: 82% to 93%
- Cefoperazone crosses the placenta.
- Excreted principally in bile. Following IM or IV administration of a single dose of cefoperazone, approximately 15 – 30% of the dose is excreted in urine as unchanged drug; less than 1% of the dose is excreted in urine as metabolites.
- Sulbactam is ß– lactamase inhibitor
