Dopamine hydrochloride injection is a clear, practically colorless, sterile, pyrogen-free, aqueous solution of dopamine HCl for intravenous infusion after dilution.
Dopamine is a vasopressor, immediate precursor of nonepiphrine, which exerts an agonist action on beta-adrenoceptors and indirectly by causing release of norepinephrine from storage sites in sympathetic nerve endings, resulting in increased heart rate and cardiac contractility.
