Indications
HESTAR-200 & HESTAR-450 are clear, colourless hydroxyethyl starch solutions used as plasma volume expander / blood substitute in shock, hypovolemia, acute blood loss, hypotension, etc., to maintain normal blood pressure and volume. They improve oxygen transport to all vital organs of the body.

HESTAR-200 : Pentastarch [Hydroxyethyl starch (200/0.5)] solution isotonic with 0.9% sodium chloride for intravenous infusion.

HESTAR-450 : Hetastarch [Hydroxyethyl starch (450/0.7)] solution isotonic with 0.9% sodium chloride for intravenous infusion.
  • Prophylaxis and treatment of hypovolemia & shock due to

    (c) Burns (d) Infections
  • Preloading in spinal anesthesia
  • Cardiac priming
  • Acute normovolemic hemodilution (Autologous blood transfusion)
