Jemcita is gemcitabine injection . Gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog used as chemotherapy in many cancer. Gemcitabine targets and kills cancer cells. It does this by damaging the DNA within the cell rendering it incapable of dividing.
Exhibits cell phase specificity, primarily killing cells undergoing DNA synthesis in the S-phase. It also blocks the progression of cells through the G1/S-phase boundary.

It is indicated for the treatment of the following locally advanced, metastatic or non-responsive cancers:
- Non-small cell lung cancer
- Pancreatic adenocarcinoma
- Bladder cancer
- Breast cancer
- Ovarian carcinoma
