Electrolyte P is pediatric maintenance solution and is designed to provide the usual daily needs in infants and children. It provides more water. The solution should be used in adults when there is excessive water loss or inability to concentrate urine.

- For daily water and electrolyte maintenance in infants and children
- To counter excessive loss of water
- In the treatment of mild metabolic acidosis
- To test kidney function before any intravenous or operative treatment
