Stener very effectively inhibits factor X(a) and factor II(a) in coagulation cascade. Stener is effective in preventing the conditions, in which harmful blood clots form in the blood vessels. Stener is having higher bioavailability, predictable anticoagulant effect and lower side effects as compared to unfractionated heparin. Compared to UFH, Stener has higher Xa:IIa ratio and increased plasma half-life.
